About Ramstad lake

Ramstad lake is located 268 meters above sea level, in Østmarka in Rælingen municipality, in Viken county. Previously, the water was used as a source of drinking water but is now only used for bathing and fishing with fish such as perch and trout.

By the water is Huldreheim, a large and family-friendly cottage with 8 beds in two rooms, as well as 10 mattresses on the loft. The cabin was given to DNT by Håkon Ljøgodt. Huldreheim is not open but can be reserved on DNT’s pages. See here for more info.

Rating

The trip goes inland into the forest on a nice path, well marked with blue and signs all the way to Ramstad lake. In winter, the trail is prepped for skiing and hiking a bit inwards, and then well-trodden further inwards. It only takes half an hour to walk to the lake, but if you want a longer trip there are several paths further inland. Ramstad lake is cozy, with the opportunity to camp by, and you can swim and fish if you so choose. In winter it is possible to ski across the water.
